Reasons why Miyazaki is chosen as a school trip destination

Miyazaki Prefecture is one of Japan's leading learning locations, where a rich history, passed down through generations as the birthplace of Japan, coexists with abundant nature that can be proudly presented to the world. "Living learning" that cannot be obtained simply by reading textbooks awaits you everywhere in this region.

An experience that makes "protecting the environment" a personal matter.

Miyazaki is home to precious ecosystems that must be protected, such as beautiful coastlines where endangered loggerhead sea turtles come to lay their eggs. Even something as simple as picking up trash allows you to experience firsthand "why trash is generated" and "how to protect life," helping you to see environmental issues not as something happening in a faraway country, but as your own problem.

Walking the "roots of Japan" and refining one's sensibilities

Miyazaki, home to Takachiho, a place renowned for its mythology, and dotted with historic shrines, offers a unique opportunity to visit these historically significant sites and cultures. By experiencing these places firsthand, you can gain a comprehensive understanding of Japan's origins and awaken a sense of pride and intellectual curiosity towards the culture of the country you live in.

A climate that frees the mind and unleashes the power of action.

Miyazaki's warm, sunny atmosphere throughout the year naturally eases the students' tension. This relaxed environment allows them to speak honestly with classmates they might not normally talk to, positively fostering their desire to try new things.

The appeal of taking a school trip to SEAGAIA

With its vast grounds and extensive facilities, PHOENIX SEAGAIA RESORT is not merely a lodging facility, but also functions as "infrastructure that supports learning."

Minimize travel time and maximize experiences and interactions.

Within the resort grounds, the Pacific Ocean coastline, pine forests, a zoo, and a botanical garden are all within walking distance.

In typical school trips, a lot of time is spent traveling by bus between tourist destinations, but at SEAGAIA, that travel time can be used directly for "student experiences" and "interaction with classmates."

Having more free time creates an environment where you can concentrate deeply on each program.

Accommodation, meals, and experience programs can all be arranged within the resort.

PHOENIX SEAGAIA RESORT offers a wide range of accommodations, banquet halls, restaurants, and activity facilities on its vast grounds.

We offer a one-stop service that minimizes travel hassle, handling everything from accommodation and meals to experiential programs.

Capacity that does not compromise the sense of unity within each grade, even in large schools.

It boasts an overwhelming capacity, allowing even groups of several hundred people to stay in the same hotel.

Furthermore, because it has a large convention center where international conferences are held, it is possible for all grades to gather together for an entrance ceremony, grade-level recreation, and review sessions. While cherishing the sense of solidarity that is an extension of school life, teachers can also manage and operate the facility and ensure safety smoothly and reliably.

Convenient access. Turn travel time into experience time.

It's about a 25-minute drive from Miyazaki Airport.

Direct flights are available from Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka, making it accessible from all over Japan.

We have parking spaces available for large buses, ensuring smooth arrival for groups. Bus drop-off and pick-up areas are provided at both the Ocean Tower and the Condominium Cottage.

Team-building and experiential programs that leave a lasting impression on students

PHOENIX SEAGAIA RESORT offers a carefully selected range of experiential programs for school trips. From team-building activities to strengthen bonds among friends, to learning experiences through nature, the environment, and animals, our diverse lineup is perfect for you.

Beach Clean-up & Sand Sculpture Competition ~A clean ocean protects small lives~

The Hitotsuba Beach, adjacent to the resort, is known as a nesting ground for loggerhead sea turtles, which are designated as a natural monument by Miyazaki Prefecture.

This CSR program teaches about environmental issues through beach cleanup, as washed-up debris and driftwood pose a barrier to baby turtles. After the cleanup, a "sand sculpting competition" is held on the newly cleaned beach. It's a fulfilling program that combines learning and activities.

  • Location: Miyazaki Seaside Park, Sun Beach Hitotsuba
  • Price (reference): ¥150,000 (excluding tax) / 50 people Additional: ¥2,000 (excluding tax) / 1 person
  • Duration: Approximately 2 hours
  • Includes: operating and management fees, insurance, and beverages.

SpoGOMI in Forest

"SpoGOMI" is a sport-style environmental activity where teams compete to pick up trash. It's a new kind of program where teams compete while enjoying Miyazaki's nature and historically rich scenery, including Misogi Pond, the English-style garden, and the parkway.

By picking up litter at power spots related to mythology and among seasonal flowers, we foster environmental awareness and an understanding of Miyazaki's culture at the same time.

  • Location: Citizens' Forest Parkway
  • Price (reference): ¥150,000 (excluding tax) / 50 people Additional: ¥2,000 (excluding tax) / 1 person
  • Duration: Approximately 2 hours
  • Includes: operating and management fees, insurance, and beverages.

Sky lantern

This is a moving program where students write messages on lanterns, make wishes, and release them into the night sky. The time students spend imbuing each lantern with their hopes and dreams will be a fitting climax to their school trip.

  • Location: SEAGAIA Convention Center Event Square
  • Price (reference): ¥5,000 (tax included) per LED lantern (minimum order of 100 units)
  • Duration: Approximately 2 hours
  • Includes: operating and management fees, lantern kit fee, and helium gas fee.

Animal care experience

At the Miyazaki City Phoenix Zoo, located next to the resort, you can experience caring for animals in a way you wouldn't normally get to. This educational program allows you to learn about the importance of life and how to interact with living creatures through activities such as cleaning the animal enclosures, preparing food, and feeding the animals.

  • Location: Miyazaki City Phoenix Zoo
  • Price (reference): ¥2,000 (tax included) per person
  • Duration: Approximately 2 hours
  • Includes: operating and management fees and insurance.

Horse Education Program (Human resource development experience through horses)

This is an experiential program that encourages inner transformation in individuals and teams through nonverbal communication with horses.

Horses respond not to human words, but to attitudes, emotions, and energy. By engaging with the horses' "way of being" rather than their superficial words and actions, students gain profound insights. Designed based on the experiential learning model of educational theologian David Kolb, the experience leads to deep learning and lasting behavioral change.

  • Location: PHOENIX SEAGAIA RESORT
  • Price (reference): ¥330,000 (tax included) ~ *Horse usage fee is separate (¥70,000 per horse, tax included)
  • Duration: Approximately 3 hours or more (varies depending on the plan)
